Annex:art is pleased to announce its call for artists to participate in 2018 edition of the juried Quadratfuß exhibition.  The 2018 edition marks the beginning of the "Square Foot Biennial" which will be celebrated in San Fidel, New Mexico.

 

The call is open to artists working in any genre.  Submitted works must meet the size requirement of 12x12 inches (30x30 cm).  Only works which meet this criteria will be considered for inclusion in the exhibition.  The size restriction is the aggregate of the piece and any framing which may be necessary.  Works may be 2D or 3D and must be ready to be wall mounted.  Artists who wish to submit video or audio works may do so - however they must be housed in an appropriate casing which meets the general 12x12 format and ready for wall mounting. Sculptures may be submitted but must also be displayed in a wall mounted 12x12 box to be submitted by the artist. 

 

Final selection will be announced on April 5, 2018.  Deadline for application is mid-night (MST) March 31, 2018. A $45 non-refundable application fee for up to 3 images is payable from all artists. Artists may submit more that 3 images for jury consideration.  There will be an additional fee of $5 per image for each image over three submitted.  

 

Artists whose works are chosen for the exhibition will be required to forward a current artist CV and a brief artist statement to Annex:art.  Shipping directions will be forwarded to the artists together with the notification of jury selection.

 

The exhibition will be hosted by Gallery 66 in San Fidel, New Mexico.  There will be a commission of 30% retained by Annex:art for all works sold.  Artists should take the 30% commission rate into account when pricing their works.  The exhibition will be presented in San Fidel from April 20 - May 14, 2018.  The opening exhibition will be on April 20, 2018.

One artist will be awarded a two week residency in San Fidel plus a $500. stipend to assist with travel costs.
