Zeitgeist  /ˈzaɪtˌɡaɪst/

 

the spirit of the time; general trend of thought or feeling characteristic of a particular period of time.

 

Each year Annex:art hosts an edition of this theme based group exhibition.  The curator of the exhibition selects a subject that has specific relevance for the year and artists are requested to submit works which they feel best interprets the the contemporary context of the theme.

2019:  masquerade

 

Masquerade is the theme for the 2019 Zeitgeist exhibition.  Artists are encouraged to submit works which best depicts their personal interpretation of a contemporary masquerade.  Artists are free to create works that represent the term in either a literal or figurative sense.

call for entries

Annex:art is pleased to announce its call for artists to participate in the 2019 edition of the Zeitgeist exhibition.  

 

The call is open to artists working in any genre.  

Final selection will be announced on July 15, 2019.  Deadline for application is mid-night (MST) July 10, 2019 A $45 non-refundable application fee for up to 3 images is payable from all artists. Artists may submit more than 3 images for consideration.  There will be an additional fee of $5 per image for each image over three submitted.  

 

Artists whose works are chosen for the exhibition will be required to forward a current artist CV and a brief artist statement to Annex:art.  Shipping directions will be forwarded to the artists together with the notification of selection.

 

The exhibition will be hosted by Gallery 66 in San Fidel, New Mexico.  There will be a commission of 20% retained by Annex:art for all works sold.  Artists should take the commission rate into account when pricing their works.  The exhibition will be presented in San Fidel from August 1 - August 31, 2019.  A gallery reception will be held on August 16, 2019.
